How to read the tables
Status is as of 1 October 2026 and is reproduced as the brief prints it. Terms are summarised; notified scheme guidelines govern eligibility and payment. Viability gap funding is paid to projects selected in tenders, and the amounts shown are scheme ceilings. Regulatory incentives (waivers, obligations and open access) apply automatically where conditions are met; mission funding is announced or approved as dated.
Status labels used in the brief:
| Label | Meaning |
|---|---|
| OPEN | Available or accepting applications |
| CLOSING | A stated window or period ends on the date shown |

What the status pattern means
- Manufacturing PLI is largely spent. The solar PV module PLI is closed with all 48,337 MW awarded, and 40 GWh of the 50 GWh ACC battery PLI has been awarded. A new equipment maker should plan on state incentives and the customs and GST measures on the tax and zones page rather than on fresh PLI rounds.
- Hydrogen support has been allocated. SIGHT awards cover 450,000 tonnes a year of hydrogen and prices are discovered for 724,000 tonnes a year of ammonia. Certification has been live since April 2025.
- Storage support is at the tender stage. The first VGF scheme is under implementation and the second was approved in June 2025; both are paid only to projects selected in tenders.
- Offshore wind has no live award. Both 2025 tenders under the ₹7,453 crore scheme were cancelled for want of bids.
- Consumption-side rules are in force. The ISTS waiver (now at 50% for Jul 2026–Jun 2027 commissioning), the RCO trajectory to 2029-30 and the open access rules are the demand-side measures a developer can rely on without a scheme application.
- Three items are announced or proposed, not operating. The nuclear SMR mission (Budget 2025-26), CCUS (proposed 1 Feb 2026) and Samudra Manthan (approved 31 Jul 2026) carry no operating guidelines in the sources.
Check: Status text is as the brief prints it on 1 October 2026. Confirm the current window and guidelines with the administering ministry (MNRE, MoP, MHI or DAE) before building a scheme into a business case. The cross-sector incentive tracker and the updates feed record later changes.
What to check next
- For an equipment plant, confirm that no PLI capacity remains and plan on state incentives, the 5% GST rate and the 2 February 2026 customs exemptions instead.
- For storage, identify the next BESS VGF tender under the second scheme and the ceiling (₹18 lakh per MWh) that applies.
- For any inter-state project, fix the expected commissioning date against the ISTS waiver taper (50% for Jul 2026–Jun 2027).
- For hydrogen or ammonia, check whether further SIGHT rounds are notified; the brief records only the awarded tranches.
- Treat the SMR mission, CCUS and Samudra Manthan as announced funding and ask the authority for operating guidelines before relying on them.
