Who publishes it
IMC has advised businesses for more than 45 years (see how IMC works with you) on entering and operating in India: entry structure, incorporation and foreign investment filings, tax, payroll, global mobility and capability centres. As a member firm of Andersen Global it works with professionals in other countries on cross-border matters.
This is not a government website. It is not affiliated with or endorsed by the Government of India, Invest India or any ministry or regulator. For official positions, always refer to the authority concerned; each page names the sources it relies on.
How we keep it current
India's rules for foreign investors change often: press notes, notifications, scheme windows, state policies and tax rules. The guide is updated weekly in four steps.
- Watch. An automated monitor reads official feeds and pages each week, including the Press Information Bureau, the Reserve Bank of India, DPIIT, CBIC and CBDT, the Ministry of Corporate Affairs, SEBI, DGFT, sector ministries and state investment portals.
- Draft. An AI assistant identifies items relevant to foreign investors, drafts a dated entry for What changed and proposes edits to the affected guide pages, citing the source of each fact. It writes in its own words and does not copy third-party material.
- Review. An IMC professional checks every draft against the original source. Nothing is published without that review.
- Publish. Approved changes go live with their date and source, and the page's "facts as of" date is updated.
Pages that have not been re-verified for 90 days are flagged for review even if nothing has changed.
Sources and reuse
We cite original sources: acts, rules, press notes, notifications, official press releases and data releases. Where we use material from the Press Information Bureau we acknowledge it, in line with PIB's copyright policy. We link to other government websites rather than reproduce their content.
